  • Santeon,Inc. is a leading agile services firm that specializes in agile transformation and agile software development for commercial and federal clients—enterprise level. Clients include the financial and insurance sector, global technology and manufacturing companies, the healthcare industry, and government agencies (federal and state).

    Technology and Business groups within our clients’ sites are adopting an agile approach in order to reduce time to market/constituents and improve the quality of solutions. Agile leads pracite target agile models and is responsible for the following initiatives:

    the creation of reference models on how agile teams should ideally be constructed.

    the creation of reference models on how the firm should move to a DevOps delivery model.

    the standardization of lean and agile training across the firm.

    working closely with the firm’s cloud adoption team to create and deliver in-depth technical training courses to agile development teams.

    working with the Technology Controls team to ensure the firm’s agile practices align to the new controls agenda.

    monitoring teams and groups against these reference models.


    The agile team also spends a significant portion of its time giving hands-on lean and agile coaching to teams in the various business lines, as this is one of the most effective way that it can promote these techniques throughout our clients’ sites.

    Agile Transformation Lead Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, preferably Computer Science.

    At least 8 years’ experience of building complex enterprise software.

    At least 3 years’ of experience operating as an Agile coach or multi-team Scrum Master, working with most commonly used agile methodologies, specifically – Scrum and Kanban.

    Programming in any language for at least a year and therefore a good understanding of the craft of software creation, design, build, testing etc.

    A strong comprehension of Computer Science fundamentals (object oriented analysis and design, UML, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, interface design).

    More than a year’s experience of coaching agile team(s), preferably from the initiation of a transformation from a traditional waterfall model.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Strong training skills – able to teach in a classroom environment.

    Experience with proven modern practices such as Visual Modeling, UML, Refactoring, Unit Testing, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration etc.

    Strong leadership and influencing skills, being able to interact with colleagues in Technology and the Business at all levels from Graduate to Managing Director.

    Great analytical thinker and problem solver.

    Ability to develop tools and utilities.

    Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.

    Optional - certifications in one or more of the following: CSM, CSPO,CSD or CTC from the Scrum Alliance or other recognized authority.

    Santeon is seeking an Agile Coach to join our team in support of our customers. The Agile Coach will set the ground rules for the Agile teams and resources and create a winning strategy for projects. The Agile Coach is a senior experienced person who has executed multiple agile projects in similar software and systems development environments. Operational experience is a must – classroom and theoretical knowledge alone will not suffice.
    Primary Responsibilities:

    Facilitator: Facilitate the team with the knowledge so that team can start the project.

    Trainer: Provide training to the team on the agile process; training will continue all the time during the project execution and continuous improvement on velocity, quality, processes etc.

    Make the winning strategy according as per the ground conditions

    Help in preparing the overall planning of the project that means he will work as a consultant. He or she will provide various ideas, suggestions, strategies.

    Make sure that team is following agile processes in each sprint at user story level as per the Definition of Done (DoD); However, this is the responsibility of the Process Check Master but if project does not have a role of process check master, this activity should be handled by the agile coach.

    Help team to answer all the questions on the agile process during the project execution; that means agile coach need to be on the ground so that he can answer the questions immediately.

    Identify project risks and raise them proactively

    Mentor: Focusing on people and Continuous Improvement all the time; provide team a platform for improvement not only during the retro but all the time. Create a safe environment for healthy conflict and meaningful collaboration.

    Identify process issues and improve them

    Help product owner to write user stories

    Help team on the estimating of the user stories and prepare them for the same

    Provide capacity calculator template for the team

    Provide the common tasking codes for the team for better tracking on technical front

    Help scrum master to plan meetings like

    o preplanning.

    o daily scrum.

    o Review & Retrospective.

    Skills/Qualifications (Required):

    To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

    o 10+ years progressively increasing experience in software development

    o 5+ years of experience in Agile delivery

    Hands-on operational experience serving in Agile Coach capacity on large similar and complex software / systems development initiatives.

    Expert knowledge of Agile delivery processes (e.g., Scrum, KANBAN, etc.). Understanding of methods and techniques for Agile Delivery; understanding of system design, including documentation (SDD), backlog grooming and planning (estimation); implementation and testing, including Agile/Scrum management with peer to peer development and test-driven development; Acceptance Testing, including software quality assurance, Section 508, Security, and User Acceptance Testing.

    Knowledge and experience with CMS-specific lifecycles a plus (e.g., XLC).

    Candidates must demonstrate strong oral and written communications skills including the ability to participate in persuasive discourse with customers and the ability to produce compelling documentation of solutions that is easily understood by non-technical reviewers.

    Demonstrated success in building meaningful and productive relationships with senior managers, peers, and customers is also required.

    Prior experience supporting Federal agencies including HHS, CMS or other health IT business domain.

    Prior CMS experience is strongly desired

    Agile Team Coach/Project Manager Leads an Agile delivery team releasing regular software updates to a mission critical production system. Drive the adoption of DevOps practices. Serve as an expert on Agile values, principles, and practices for developers, test engineers, architect, and systems engineers. Engage directly with government stakeholders to define mission value and prioritize work. Build intellectual capital in Agile or DevOps techniques. Provide support for all levels of the organization, including interacting with client staff, such as senior-level decision makers, executives, and front line employees to drive transformational change through systems delivery solutions. Foster a culture that lives the Agile values and principles and serve as a subject matter expert.

    Basic Qualifications:

    5+ years of experience with coaching or leading an Agile or DevOps team

    Experience in interacting with senior-level management

    Experience with teaching technical teams basic Agile framework concepts

    Knowledge of Agile frameworks at scale, including SAFe, LeSS, and DAD

    The Agile Coach/Scrum master will be responsible for maximizing the ongoing performance of a cross-functional agile team and producing products rapidly and with high quality.     8+ years of professional experience in software development projects.

    Proven success in a leadership role with responsibility for delivering large and/or complex IT Software Development projects.

    5+ years of leadership experience as a Scrum Master on an agile software development team

    Deep understanding of Agile practices (in particular Scrum), as well as experience with traditional methodologies.

    Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.
